Join a guided hike on Stromboli with an expert volcanological guide and explore one of the world’s most active volcanoes, erupting continuously for over 2,000 years. Follow scenic trails at sunset to reach the viewpoints overlooking the Sciara del Fuoco, where glowing lava explosions light up the night sky — a raw and unforgettable Aeolian Islands experience. Hike Details - Elevation gain: 918 m - Ascent time: Approximately 3 hours - Descent time: Approximately 2 hours - Summit stop: Between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on volcanic activity and safety conditions Required Equipment Proper equipment is essential to fully enjoy the hike and ensure your safety on the volcano. Participants are required to bring: Hiking boots or sturdy trekking shoes Windproof jacket Warm sweatshirt or fleece Headlamp or flashlight Spare T-shirt Bandana or face covering to protect against volcanic dust Small backpack At least 1 litre of water Snacks such as sandwiches, fresh or dried fruit, or energy bars A mandatory protective helmet is provided free of charge by the guide. If needed, all required equipment can be rented locally before the excursion.
Cancellation Policy
To ensure the best experience for all guests and our local hosts, any reservation may be cancelled up to 48 hours before the scheduled experience with a full refund. Cancellations received less than 48 hours in advance are non‑refundable. In the event of exceptional circumstances, please contact us directly — while refunds cannot be guaranteed, we will always do our best to find a suitable solution. To operate this experience, a minimum of 4 participants is required. If the minimum number is not reached at least 48 hours before the start time, the experience may be cancelled, and all guests will receive a full refund. In case of adverse weather or other external circumstances, the Partner reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the experience if its execution becomes unsafe, impractical, not feasible, or otherwise inappropriate. These measures are taken to ensure the safety and overall quality of the experience.
